Today, Doug Ford introduced legislation to remove the rights of education workers to negotiate a fair deal. Here's the facts:

Education workers earn an average of 39K a year.

2/3 are women.

1/3 rely on food banks to survive.

1/2 have a second job.

They deserve better.

We will not allow our rights to be legislated away. They may have a majority in the legislature. We have a majority across the province. We will take a stand and do everything we can to defend workers' rights and to defend public education.

I am pleased that the Canadian government, at the urging of Jagmeet Singh and the NDP, is moving toward universal dental care. That's the right thing to do, and exactly what we should be doing in the US. Health care is a human right, and dental care is part of health care.
