🚨 We have initiated a 48-hour plan to resurface the affected 4,600m2 of road

Update re ongoing work to clear fuel spill on A22 between #Godstone and #Caterham - 1 lane of A22 N/B reopened. Rd remains closed S/B btw Wapses Lodge R/A+J6 M25, Godstone Rd also closed S/B btw Church Hill+A22.

A number of closures are currently in place around the area while the clean-up operation takes place. This is likely to take some time.

** ROAD CLOSURES IN PLACE **

Due to a serious collision there are currently road closures in place on:

The A3 slip road northbound at Burnt Common
B2215 London Road/Portsmouth Road
Vicarage Lane/Woodhill

Please avoid the area and make alternative journey plans if possible.

Police have now left the scene and handed management of the road over to Highways England. The roads will reopen once they have carried out some temporary repairs, but we anticipate heavy traffic for some time, so please use alternative routes if possible for the next few hours.
