Chris Glaize shared his thoughts with me after his team (Brookville) fell to Amherst. Coach Glaize reviewed positives he saw in the loss & talked about Friday’s home game with Jefferson Forest.

Amherst picked up the win on the diamond on Tuesday night. Afterwards, I spoke with the head man of Amherst, John Apperson on what he saw in the win against Brookville.

Jack Mistretta made his first varsity start, and contributed in a big way according to Ryan Gilleland.

Adam Massie’s grounder looked like it was going to be an out late in the game, but the Cavaliers senior hustled all the way down the line, and kept the contest going for the Cavaliers. Ryan Gilleland commented on the senior’s grittiness & more.

Chris Carr’s interview had some operator error (by me) but Coach Carr echoed what Coach Gilleland said. Both teams battled as echoed by Ryan Gilleland.

Seniors are normally thought of as leaders, I asked Adam Massie, how important is it to JF Seniors that they are leading the group that will one day be seniors for the Cavaliers.

The big extra inning single was the game winner for Jefferson Forest on Monday night. Adam Massie emphasized, it’s the whole coaching staff that gets the Cavaliers ready.

Canelo won the fight, I don’t get 115-112 though. Who does Canelo fight next? I’m not sure. It’s getting to the point, where I don’t know what’s left to prove.

Scott Zaring said the sky will not be falling when JF gives up a goal. Cavs pushed their mark to 11-0 with 11 shutouts. I also asked the head man of the Cavs, for an area that the Cavs push themselves & don’t need to be pushed by the staff.

I consider myself an “old school” sports fan, more of a fan of the 80’s & my high school years. I get sports want to expand internationally & all that jazz, but as I watch the NFL Draft, even more proof that sports is no longer designed to appeal to hardcore sports fans.

I know I have brought this up before, but I’m watching a lot of “Stump The Schwab” on YouTube. Makes me wonder which high school coaches would do well. Some assistants I know would crush it. Maybe we’ll get a format & a little tournament started (oh the dreams)

I thought Harvey Dock earned every cent. I thought he reffed a good fight. I thought the taking of the point was good. Maybe one of the slips should have been a knockdown but I thought Harvey Dock did a really good job.
