A busy, productive and fun morning over the border in the West Midlands with Labour colleagues. It’s really encouraging to know that Keir Starmer, Rachel Reeves and Angela Rayner 🌹 want Mayors to take the lead when it comes to delivering growth for all parts of our country.

As Mayor, I’m determined to make the case for this role and show just how transformative it can be. The way to do that is by not asking residents across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire for yet more cash - I don't think we need to do that. bbc.com/news/articles/…

I look forward to working with him to keep Nottinghamshire's streets, communities and businesses safe. He will also restore credibility to this hugely important role.
