The Met only solve 8% of crime yet get Β£3.5 billion per year. If money and resources were put into youth centres, free higher education, a real living wage, mental heath provisions, affordable food, council housing, etc, there would be less crime.

Lammy is spreading a false narrative here. The university encampments are a well established form of peaceful protest. The violence is being perpetrated by the police. Shame on Lammy for slandering young people who have more courage and conviction than he does.

David Lammy is lying to himself and us. The Chartists, The Suffragettes, The Battle of Cable Street, The Bristol Bus Boycott, Lesbian and Gay Pride, The Poll Tax uprisings, and BLM all prove that change can happen through protest.

If David Lammy is so 'outraged' by the starvation and bombing being inflicted on the people of Yemen, then why in October 2016 did Lammy miss the vote to withdraw support from Saudi Arabia’s war on the Yemeni people(?)
